150 youths from Lafigué trained in technical skills
The Lafigué Employability and Entrepreneurship Initiative, led by the Endeavour Foundation, successfully equipped 150 young people from Lafigué with technical skills, marking a significant milestone in the community's development. The project also provided literacy training for 500 people from Lafigué.
These efforts, which culminated in a ceremony held in Dakabala on 28 March, aimed to promote self-sufficiency and resilience among young people living near the Lafigué mine, primarily through vocational training in construction and public works.
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Vocational Training and Apprenticeship, in partnership with the Endeavour Foundation, the Vice-President in charge of Public Affairs Côte d'Ivoire, Laetitia Gadegbeku-Ouattara, at the official ceremony, underlined the alignment of this project with the Group's sustainability strategy, in particular the focus on education and training. After 4 months of intensive training in building electricity, plumbing and masonry, and six months in welding/boilermaking, appliance electricity and carpentry, the 150 young people trained received their certificates. Of these, 65 have already secured employment with Endeavour's subcontractors in Lafigué.
Endeavour's investment of 86 million FCFA has driven the success of Lafigué's employability and training initiative, reinforcing its commitment to the community's development.
