PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
Under the Planning Manager's responsibility, the Senior Ventilation Engineer will design, plan, track, and report on all ventilation activities in accordance with safety standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conduct daily vent surveys ;
- Prepare monthly ventilation reports ;
- Update monthly Ventilation Model ;
- Review monthly plans and organize UG ventilation requirements ;
- Provide Quarterly and LOM ventilation planning ;
- Prepare annual and quarterly ventilation cost forecasting ;
- Provide end of quarter reporting ;
- Provide improvement initiatives ;
- Ensure supervision and mentoring of ventilation engineers.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Degree in mining engineering or equivalent.
Relevant Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of underground mining experience in a similar position.
- Knowing how to read and write in French and English.
- Be proactive, dynamic, rigorous, with a high sense of ethics and discretion.
- Have skills in leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and hazard identification.
- Be able to identify any hazard and be able to implement controls to eliminate or minimize the risk.
- Demonstrate availability even after working hours.
- The ability to manage several projects and tasks at the same time.
- A reputation for integrity and ethics.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
