PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE

Endeavour Mining Exploration is deploying exploration programs through Western Africa.

Exploration campaigns are planned based on the Group’s objectives.

The Database & Quality Control Coordinator Country Level will assist the Exploration teams within the country for which they are responsible in the following manner:

In the oversight and technical support of the Endeavour Exploration geoscience and GIS database management systems. In the implementation and management of quality control policies, protocols and procedures in the field and in the project camp offices. In management of all personnel associated with geoscience, GIS and quality control systems.

They must oversee the production of quality data products to support management and Geologists with analysis, reporting and presentation.

They will be expected to travel within the country for which they are responsible to project sites, both at Endeavour Mines and remote Greenfields camps.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Database management

• Provide oversite and technical support for all geoscience data systems, GIS data systems and database quality control systems ;
• Provide oversite and technical support to the project level database, GIS and quality control administration team members and exploration geology team members for use of the geoscience, GIS and QAQC systems ;
• Provide oversite and technical support for all geoscience data systems, GIS data systems and database quality control systems ;
• Provide oversite and technical support to the project level database, GIS and quality control administration team members and exploration geology team members for use of the geoscience, GIS and QAQC systems ;
• Provide geoscience and GIS data support to the VP Country Level, Project Generation Manager, Exploration Manager and Operations Exploration Manager ;
• Assist with development, implementation and support of new data collection and management systems ;
• Provide oversite and technical assistance with training in the utilization of geoscience, GIS and quality control data systems ;
• Ensure the integrity of geoscience and GIS data ;
• Enforce the security and confidentiality of all geoscience and GIS data within the country they are responsible for.

Quality Control management

• Provide oversite and technical assistance and, where required, directly participate in management of quality control both for the generation of data in the field and management of data within the geoscience and GIS data systems ;
• Support all exploration team members with implementation of quality control policies, protocols and procedures ;
• Support the development of new quality control policies, protocols and procedures and oversee implementation of these new policies, protocols and procedures ;
• Provide oversite and technical assistance with training in the utilization of all quality control procedures.

Reporting

• Report the status of the geoscience and GIS data systems and quality control programs to the VP Country Level and Project Generation Manager ;
• Manage the provision of data products to the VP Country Level, Project Generation Manager, Exploration Manager and Operations Exploration Manager ;
• Provide oversite and technical support to the project level database team while they support the Exploration Managers and project Geologists for reporting purposes ;
• Manage the provision of clean compliant geoscience databases to the Resources Geology team members.

IT Management

• Act as the technical representative for the country exploration team when dealing with the Geoscience Database Management System and GIS System support teams ;
• Work with the country level IT team members to implement Information Technology (IT) systems suitable to support the database management systems.

HSE & Procedures

• Respect HSE procedure & policies of Endeavour Group ;

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Education / Training

Mandatory :

• A formal university degree in Geology;
• Training in database theory and experience in database design ;
• Training in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL ;
• Training in mining industry standard data management systems like DataShed, AcQuire or Fusion ;
• Training in industry standard quality control (QAQC)systems and procedures ;
• Training and experience in geographic information systems (GIS) software like QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo ;
• High level of competence in oral and written French.

Advantage :

• Training in mobile apps and hardware including GPS and other external data collectors ;
• Training in programming and information technology (IT) ;
• Experience with data analytics applications like Power BI ;
• Experience generating presentation quality promotional documents from GIS maps ;
• Knowledge of oral and written English.

Relevant Experience

• 10 years working within the mining / exploration industry with extensive experience in field level Geological Exploration and program management.
• 7 years’ experience working with geoscience, GIS and quality control data systems.
• Extensive experience managing Geologists and Database, GIS and Quality Control personnel.
• Ability to work continuously, for long periods, often beyond their contractual obligation while managing large quantities of data, accurately, efficiently in a very highly organized state.
• Possess a high capacity for multi-tasking.
• High ability to train and mentor others in all aspects of data, GIS and quality control protocols and procedures.
• Ability to motivate others to compile and manage data accurately, efficiently and in a very highly organized manner.
• Ability to dictate to others quality control principles and reinforce protocols and procedures.
• Possess a very high capacity for attention to detail.
