Respect for human rights is fundamental to how we operate, and protecting the well being and rights of people connected to our business is essential to maintaining trust with our host communities and ensuring responsible mining practices.
Human rights considerations are embedded across our operations. Our Human Rights Policy is informed by internationally recognised frameworks, incuding the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s fundamental principles, and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
Across West Africa, we work closely with community leaders, local authorities and residents to raise awareness of human rights and engage in discussions on issues that matter most to our communities.
In 2025, our teams organised a series of engagement sessions on our grievance management mechanism with 2,875 community members from 62 villages surrounding our five operations. These sessions explained how communities can raise concerns related to our activities, how complaints are investigated and resolved, and how transparency and appeal processes are maintained.
Our commitment also extends across our supply chain. Supplier contracts include human rights requirements and audit rights, and we provide training to key suppliers on our Supplier Code of Conduct to promote responsible sourcing and prevent risks such as forced labour, child labour and human trafficking.
Through open dialogue with communities, collaboration with local stakeholders and strong governance frameworks, we aim to ensure that respect for human rights remains central to the way we operate and create long-term value across West Africa.
