Anti-bribery and corruption

Our approach

We have a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption, enshrined in our Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy (‘ABC Policy’) which sets out the framework for ensuring we conduct our business in an honest and ethical manner, reflecting the highest standards of integrity.

We require all our employees to comply with our ABC Policy and any breach may result in disciplinary action. We expect our contractors, suppliers and business partners to comply with our ABC Policy, which is included in our Supplier Code of Conduct. In addition, we have an anti-bribery and anti-corruption clause in all our supplier contracts and undertake vendor due diligence as part of our supplier onboarding and contract renewal process.

Anti-bribery and corruption factsheet

Our Compliance Team and Audit Committee ensure that we conduct our business in compliance with all the relevant anti-bribery and anti-corruption legislation, including the UK Bribery Act of 2010, the Canadian Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (“CFPOA”), the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), and anti-bribery and anti-corruption local laws.

All Directors, Executives and employees in positions where the risk of corruption is elevated, such as politically exposed positions or employees working in our supply chain department, are required to sign compliance certificates annually. We conduct due diligence on all our third parties and we communicate all of our policies to them. A signed compliance certificate by the third parties is required as part of the due diligence process.

Responsible product stewardship

As a responsible miner, we produce traceable gold doré bars, which we further refine into London Good Delivery gold with an accredited London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) refiner. We do not purchase gold from other producers, artisanal or small-scale miners.

We are members of the Single Mine Origin (“SMO”) initiative, which addresses the need for traceability and accountability in gold production.

We are also members of aXedras, a digital platform for the precious metals industry that implements an international system of gold bar integrity along the chain of custody, enabling customers to verify the product origin and share product information with auditors and authorities.
