We are committed to protecting and conserving nature and biodiversity.
In early 2025, we strengthened this commitment by publishing our second TNFD report.
Our approach
We have a multi-pronged approach to protect ecosystem health, through biodiversity sensitivity mapping, conservation, education, staff incentives and smart rehabilitation practices. For more information on how we manage biodiversity, please see the below materials:
Biodiversity and ecosystem services underpin human existence and are an essential element to reduce the impacts of climate change.
Our goal is to effectively manage biodiversity across our sites and reduce our impacts throughout the life of an asset, and post closure. We do not undertake exploration or mining activities on natural World Heritage sites. We map regional and local protected areas and terrestrial ecoregions to effectively work with biodiversity around our sites.
Since 2021, Endeavour's biodiversity conservation initiatives have delivered measurable impact, with achievements including:
1,547 ha
Restored in Senegal & Côte d’Ivoire
+387,650
plants planted across all reforestation projects
$1.2m
Invested in 10 biodiversity projects
40 ha
arboretum funded at the University of Daloa for research and recreation
We map regional and locally protected areas and terrestrial ecosystems to understand and effectively work with biodiversity around our sites. All our sites are located within 50 km of some form of area of conservation importance (e.g. World Heritage Site, Classified Forest, Important Bird and Biodiversity Area, Key Biodiversity Area, UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve, Ramsar Site, etc.). These areas are already formally recognised for their biodiversity conservation value, with some even enjoying legal protection.

World Gold Council Indaba Speech
Our CEO, Ian Cockerill, delivered a keynote speech at the World Gold Council reception during the African Mining Indaba 2026 touching on the importance of responsible mining and transparent supply chains.
So the choice is clear, we can treat these shifts as pressure, or as the catalyst to modernise our industry for the next generation; and that means responsible mining, transparent supply chains and digitally trusted gold. That is how we build an industry that is not only profitable — but legitimate, resilient, and future-ready, and something that we can all be proud of.
