Maintenance Specialist – Crushing Milling Flotation

The Role

The Maintenance Specialist – Crushing Milling Flotation provides direct, targeted and on the ground support to Endeavour Mining Gold Processing plants to eliminate and reduce plant downtime for an increased plant effectiveness and operational efficiency. As a member of the Group Asset Management team, the role holder is a part of a specialist group of professionals who provide targeted improvements and complex diagnostic support to Endeavour Mining’s operations. The role holder is a highly experienced and all-round plant maintenance professional from a trade background who enjoys being hands-on and has a flair for coaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold Endeavour Mining’s Values, lead by example and conduct all activities in a way that ensures safety for self and others. Actively promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. 
• Provide direct and expert support in the maintenance of crushing, milling and flotation circuits in the gold processing plant. 
• Provide hands-on complex mechanical diagnostics support to the plant maintenance teams within the Endeavour Mining group. 
• Provide direct and on-site support in the planning and execution of major planned jobs including but not limited to the installation and replacement of pitmans, mill gearboxes, pinions and pinion bearings, girth gears. 
• Be a guru in hydraulics, mechanical drives, centrifugal pumps maintenance and a champion of lubrication excellence while assisting the sites to make impactful improvements in these areas.
• Assist and work closely with the Group Mechanical Reliability Engineer to perform evaluation of mechanical specifications for projects and new plant construction. 
• Support the training and development of local workforce through knowledge sharing and on the job training. 
• Keep statutory and internal reporting as required.

Position Requirements

• A Mechanical trade certification.
• A minimum of 15 years’ plant maintenance experience in gold processing plants at Specialist or Superintendent. 
• Hands-on experience in gold processing plant maintenance.
• Strong Experience in jaw & gyratory crushing, various types of feeders, conveyor systems, mills and drivetrains
• and centrifugal pumps maintenance.
• Knowledge and experience of flotation circuits will be an added advantage.
• Strong experience in a multicultural environment, especially in Africa, working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong technical leadership skills and strong verbal/written communication skills, including experience and commitment to coach and develop teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and diagnostic skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments concurrently and manage deadlines.
• Ability to successfully work both independently and in a team environment to identify errors, pinpoint root causes, and devise solutions with minimal oversight.
