THE ROLE

Environmental Supervisor is responsible for organizing the environmental activities including dust, noise, blast, water monitoring, progressive rehabilitation, biodiversity and waste management. The role will also produce internal and external reports, oversee compliance to regulation, and manage the day-to-day tasks of field workers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Technical Implementation :

Supervise Waste management.
Collect environmental monitoring data (dust, noise and vibration) and update the database.
Education and training of employees and subcontractors in good environmental practices.
Implementation of site progressive rehabilitation program.
Plants nursery management.
Erosion control.
Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the site and the camps.
Elaboration of Environmental activities report.
Biodiversity management.
Staff education on the concept of Energy Efficiency.
Lead Internal Environmental inspections and coordinate external environmental inspections and audit.
Environmental compliance monitoring.

HSE Responsibilities :

  • Comply with Site’s established health & safety and environmental policies.
  • Comply with Site’s fatigue management procedures.
  • Ensure Team under his/her supervision are competent and trained trough their respective high-risk activities procedures/SWI and make sure PTOs are completed to evaluate their compliance.
  • Comply targeting leading Indicators set up and ensure they are captured into Benchmark and actions follow up.
  • Ensure the completion of Take 5s, Hazard Reporting, and Pre-use Inspections for your team daily.
  • Verify completion and close-out of hazard reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Perform Planned Task Observations and ensure compliance with established Safe Work Instructions (SWIs).
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and ensure proper focus on safety topics relevant to current and upcoming tasks.
  • Empower the areas Health & Safety Representative are well supported into their role & responsibilities.
  • Complete VFL by regularly engaging with your team on the field, focusing on hazard identification, safe behaviors, and risk management.
  • Ensure that JHAs and PTOs are completed and integrated into operational planning.
  • Support on-the-job training initiatives, focusing on transferring safety skills and best practices to your subordinates. Monitor job completion to ensure safety compliance at each phase, from initiation to close-out.
  • Reward and recognize safe behavior exhibited by team members as per safety procedures.
  • Promote accountability by ensuring all safety protocols, including fatigue management, are adhered to consistently throughout the consequence management protocol.
  • Ensure the 10 Golden Rules compliance is implemented through your teams.
  • Ensure incidents investigation are being conducted and closed out as per EDV group standards.
  • Ensure his/her team under supervision comply with the incident alert protocol established on site through reminder onto the protocol and enforcement.
  • Ensure his/her team under supervision with hydrocarbon spill management, and fauna dead reporting. Ensure his/her team under supervision comply with Occupational Health and Hygiene (OHH) protocol and recommendation.
  • Ensure his/her team under supervision comply with yearly annual medical checkup procedure. Comply with the incident alert protocol established on site.
